The man - The myth
Shane Matheson has steadily developed a cult following after several years of bizarre and unpredictable shows, such as Shane Matheson and His Fabulous Singing Bucket of Gravel.
In 2011 Shane sold out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has performed at comedy, fringe and music festivals all over Australia. In 2010, his Sydney Comedy Festival season sold out and his show with Ryan Withers was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Shane has twice been a Raw Comedy State Finalist. Also in 2012 he took out the anonymous ‘Jhonsy’ award for Most Innovative Local Act. More recently he was (almost) knighted by the Queen for his role as a kilo of mince on Triple J.
Shane's current projects include the bicycle-mounted podcast "Spokey Blokeys" as well as the children's comedy show "Dinosaur Guts". He's also magnificent at putting CDs into chronological order, a skill which has sadly fallen by the wayside in these non-physical-music-format times.
